Our Goal

We aim to support regional agriculture by providing small family farms the opportunity to sell their produce directly to consumers, providing our community with access to the freshest, most nutritious locally grown food our region has to offer.

How We Started

The Gap Farmers’ Market is an initiative of The Gap Residents’ Association (GAPRA), an independent, not-for-profit group focused on enhancing The Gap and championing fresh ideas.

To bring this initiative to fruition, GAPRA teamed up with expert market operators, Erica and John Parker of Moggill Markets. They offer The Gap community their passion for fresh and wholesome food, their years of experience in successfully running the not-for-profit Moggill Markets, and their excellent relationships with farmers and stallholders.

Our Committee

The Gap Farmers’ Market is directed by a steering committee comprised of a dedicated, talented and hard-working group of volunteers from The Gap.

We are working professionals, business owners, retirees and students who are all driven by the same passion – to bring an authentic community marketplace to The Gap. To create a central meeting place where farmers, local artists and makers can sell their wares and tell their stories.

Deep in our hearts is our commitment to support Queensland’s regional producers and good nutrition in The Gap greater community through fresh, seasonal, farmer-direct produce. We also desire to encourage and support local businesses, schools and our greater community.
